Since I witnessed the mesmerizing Green Flash Sunrise, my life has transformed remarkably, resulting in healing and growth. I’ve let go of old ties, relationships, schedules, institutions, and standards that no longer served me, and it’s been an incredible journey.
After attempting to follow the Lunar calendar for over three decades, I realized it wasn’t what I wanted, and I felt like a Lunatic! So, I embraced my inner Galactic Girl and started to listen to the rhythm of my life.

When people ask me why I don’t use the phrase “Grand Rising,” I tell them that when I first began using “Good Rising,” I was tired of mourning each day. I had been struggling with PTSD and depression for several decades and needed a new perspective. That’s when I met some people who used “Good Rising” instead of “Good Morning” in 2003. Since then, I’ve only used “Good Morning” on difficult days.
To me, “Good Rising” represents the idea that God is good and that we continually rise in consciousness toward our godly or goddess-like state. It’s a daily reminder of this upward momentum. While “Grand Rising” has its place, “Good Rising” is enough for me. Sometimes, simply being at peace and in silence is grand enough.
For me, it’s all about staying balanced, in the middle, in harmony with Maat. I don’t need to be on emotional extremes, and I focus on gratitude more than expectation. So, let’s continue to rise, greet each day with positivity, and stay centered in the midst of life’s ups and downs. Good Rising, everyone!
